(Are there any predators left in England?) ????

LOVE IT There aren't any predators left in England, so the English have been making them up. From time to time we get a shadowy photo of an extra-large domestic cat turn up in the newspapers, and people will claim that it is the offspring of zoo jaguars which escaped in the 1970s and it will get called the "Beast Of Bodmin Moor" or whatever. It's a good thing my Monty is a housecat or he would be causing rumours all over East London

I could understand that. A few pints, and a little fog, and domestic cats suddenly become "Godzilla"
Ive had it happen to me. LOL

      Not the cat, my dates.

The "shark attack" story isn't all that believable unless you dive.Try using "crocodile attack". After all, they are in Australia. Just say he had one tooth. LOL

John, Unless you are a diver, the shark attack story wont work. Try using "bear attack at Tahoe". Tell the girls, that you poked him in the eye and barely survived. (try not to laugh) Black bear populations on west shore are increasing quite a bit and I have seen a few recently in Tahoma, Ca. They want McDonalds.

No, a shark attack would work for me. I live near Santa Cruz and it's known for Great White Sharks. It can easily work in CA, we are all on the beach. I go surfing too, so it can work. Tahoe is a good 5 hours away and I rarely go, let alone see a bear that would attack me lol, but that might work too cause it's known for bears breaking into cabins.

No crocodiles near me at all.

I still have a few weeks before my surgery. Is the scar that bad or does it blend in with the indent in your back?

Either way, I can't wait to have that scar and not have my ribs sticking out !! Wearing open back shirts to the clubs and bikinis to the beach w/o being embarrassed of being twisted sounds good to me

Howdy all! It's been awhile since I posted on here. It's been 11 month as of today, that I had my surgery! Cant believe how time has flown by!!

In regards to the scar question Jennifer, I could care less about mine. It's actually is pretty thin and fairly light in color.Whoever sewed me up did a pretty damn good job I must say! lol I have not tried to hide it at all, and like Chris said, it's a conversation starter! Im proud of it too actually!! I look at it, and think about what I went thru and where Im at now, and it truly amazes me!

Well, I hope everyone here is doing well. Sorry Ive been non exsistant these days! I will try to make an effort to check in more and see how everyone is doing!!

              Best wishes!!

My 13 year old daughter thinks her scar is "totally cool". My husband says her back is so flat and straight...he could filet a fish on it!!

Good to see you here again Lynn!

My scar is still purplish and has sunk inwards slightly since this pic was taken.

It's not attractive but I'm not bothered by it. It was hard-earned and I got a wonderful outcome from it so I am not complaining! After seeing that we are all in agreement about this, I too, will wear mine with pride!

                    Hi Jen,

I think its still early days to comment on your scar. I think it looks good, your surgeon did a good job. By the way I found out that our surgeons did their Fellowship at the same place in Nottingham. (I was told this ages ago, so i hope i have the story right!). My melanoma specialist commented on 'what a nice piece of work' my scar was and how it was the best looking scar she had seen in a long time. I say, be proud of it!

I nearly forgot, to help the purpleish tinge go away, try Kosmea Rosehip Oil or Bio-oil.

I think my daughter has some Bio Oil left over from her pregnancy. I will see if she's still got it.

I remember reading that about Dr. Askin somewhere, Vali - Google I think.

Are you sending your surgeon a Christmas Card? I stopped sending cards three years ago, but I think I will make an exception for Dr. Askin.

                          I wouldn't hide my scar. Of course right after surgery its not gorgeous. I'm still astounded and thankful that cosmetically my scar looks incredible and not like a zipper. And there's a story behind it so I would I want to cover it up? JDM555 I went to UC Santa Cruz for a year haha but I tranferred. Its so pretty up there!! :} :}

I don't hide any of my scars. I've had 5 surgeries between both knees, 1 of which is a replacement. They just don't bother me. I figure if that's all someone else has to do, is make comments about someone elses scars, they have way too much time on their hands
