  • Outgrown Brace in 5 months...Will Insurance Pay Again?

My daughter went into her boston brace a little over 4 months ago. Her orthotist believes she has outgrown it. (She is 14.5 with no period yet). My insurance is GHI, will insurance companies pay for brace replacement so soon after receiving original brace?

Also, does anyone know of any charitable organization that would benefit from a donation of a back brace?

    Hi there,

I believe you could place a call to your insurance company and get your question answered. I would imagine that if the brace is documented to be outgrown, they would have to pay for another. Did your daughter have a huge increase in height? I don't see how they could refuse.

p.s. maybe you need to do a special menses dance

    Good luck,
