  • New to this and need some advice!

My 9 year old daughter was just found to have a 15 degree right convex thoracolumbar scoliosis with a Risser of 0. We have an appt with the Orthopedic Specialist this week and since this is all new to me I was wondering what kind of questions I should be asking him.
I was also wondering if anyone else's child has experienced pain with a 15 degree scoliosis. Most of the literature I have read says that it is usually painless, but my daughter is having quite a bit of pain.

    Thank You in advance!!!

    HI. Sorry about the diagnosis.

I think the surgeon might suggest an MRI to try to find a source of the pain in case it isn't the scoliosis.

My main suggestion is keep getting opinions if the first surgeon can not help with the pain. Life is short and kids should not be in pain.

    Good luck.
