That's an interesting system. I think it is mainly for lumbar fusions as far as I can tell. I hope pedicle screws solve the lumbar problems seen with previous generations of hardware. Maybe space age polymers () like this are the answer.

"Adaptability" isn't the goal in those cases, correct?

Peek rods

I asked, you asked, so I dug this up.

I found this video, and it answers some questions.

First thing... Negativo for scolis, the current rods are short, pre molded, elliptical shaped little dudes, for short constructs.

In every mechanical device, there is always a weak point. They want this "semi rigid" system to be that "weak point" The peek rod will give instead of a screw or rod breaking.
