    Thank you Linda for responding!!! Our Daughter is here in NC..
    She goes to UNC-Wilmington. Our Dr. suggested we get another opinion because he wants us to know all we can do for her.Our daughter wants to have the now two rods taken out. I am going to call and request the CAT scan next. The bone scan showed that there weren't any "hot spots" meaning that the fusion had taken place but hopefuly a CAT scan will tell us for sure..

    Hi Becca...

    While a CT is better than an x-ray, the only test that is really accurate in seeing areas of non-fusion is a tomogram.

    Unfortunately, I don't know much about the NC scoliosis specialists, so I can't help you find someone for a second opinion.
