If I were you, I would skip the blood donation entirely. Blood bank supplies are really safe these days, and you don't need the additional hassle right now.
I also find it very odd that your surgeon is sending you on this eleventh-hour wild goose chase for the tilt table. I agree that you should insist on speaking to him directly. Good luck!!!!

I don't have any advice or anything but I just wanted to say good luck with the surgery. We don't have a scheme that I know of here where you donate your own blood so have never had that experience but to be honest, they can never be sure how much you will need anyway, especially as it's a bit last minute you want to be as fit and focused as possible on staying strong after surgery not running around like a headless chicken.
