  • Something New ??

We were at Scottish Rite in Dallas yesterday for my 15 yo daughters appt. She is ,hopefully ,one of the lucky ones whose Boston brace worked and held her curve. I was talking with one Dr. while waiting for our usual Dr . She told me he had performed a recent correction where instead of cutting thru all the muscles to get to the spine he was able to go "underneath " the muscles to place the implants ( her words). She was very excited about the reduced time for healing and recovery. Is this something new or have they been doing this for sometime? This sounded promising for those needing surgery.

Someone I know is considering having surgery by this doctor in Chicago who is a pioneer in minimally invasive scoliosis surgery. http://www.or-live.com/NMH/2258/

WOW...that's amazing. I started to watch and will have to watch more later. How widespread is this surgery? Or is this the only Dr. performing it?
