Hi,
First and foremost, this is wonderful, I can't believe I never found this website or even thought of looking for a forum. I hope some of you with so much wisdom could shed some light on my concerns and maybe give me some pointers. I had my surgery in 1998 I can't believe how long it's been. i really don't know which vertabrae are affected it's the middle of my back. Like many of you if not all I wore the brace, sort of kinda. Experienced terrible amounts of back pain before my surgery. Was great for about 10 years after my surgery, NO back pain at all. I really thought I was in the home stretch. Only to turn 30 and begin to feel all sorts of new aches and pains AGAIN. It's really disappointing as i'm sure many of you know. Anyway such is life right. I just went to a scoliosis specialist affiliated with the Rothman Institute here in NJ. I thought i may have been in the early stages of needing a hip replacement since i have one leg that is noticably shorter than the other i thought my pain in my hip was caused by the strain i place on my shorter leg. That's why I chose Rothman. The doc told me my hip socket was fine, he saw some arthritis in my lower back which explains the low back pain but like a car you take to the mechanic with a noise that suddenly disappeared, the hip wasn't hurting that day so he couldn't tell what was wrong. does anyone else in the forum have extremely painful sharp shooting pains in their hips. Has a doc told you what it may be? What have you done to releive some of the pain? i've been taking tons of pain med's just to get by the day but that's not good for ya either. Do you think a new mattress may help? My mattress is 5 years old and very firm, could that be my problem? Any help or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
