  • Muscle spasms

I did a search for muscle spasms and didn't come up with much.

I am 3 weeks post op for a revision surgery to extend my previous fusion. The old one terminated at L3. The new instrumentation starts at L2 and goes to S1.

A couple days ago, I started having serious muscle spasms. Mostly, its when I am getting up out of bed or out of a chair. Its like I am trying to get the right balance of my trunk and my back muscles just freak out.

Gonna try some heat, but just wanted to know if anyone else had any suggestions.

Ice 20 minutes. rest 20 min. Moist heat 20 min.

Ice is for the swelling. Moist heat is for the pain. But usually after heat therapy you win up sicker than you were.
