  • Awesome new discovery if you wear the special brace shirts.

Okay, so if you wear the brace shirts that you are given at our otrhotist's office, I have figured something really cool out...or maybe its just common sense and I have been realllllly stupid for 5 years. so, you know how the shirts have the awful thick straps? I mean, you can't wear many camis with those. So, here's how to fix that -
    1. flip the shirt over and put in on with our feet going through the head hole. put the flat end of the shirt up to your neck.
    2. put your brace on as normal.
    3. flip the flat end of the shirt over the top edges of the brace. this way, only bra straps are showing, and you still get the padding that wearing the shirts properly affords - no rough underarm chafing.

--so, if I am being really dumb, tell me, otherwise I hope this helps somebody! its sooo nice to not have the thick straps of the shirt showing while still getting all the comfort of wearing the special shirts.
Hey, so I'm Rebecca, I'm 20 and I wore a Boston Brace for one year, and then a Cheneau brace for 5+ years. The Cheneau changed my life. I now am out of brace full time!!!! Its amazing. For all my scoli-girls (and guys of course) hang in there - the day you get your brace off is the best feeling ever. All the years of wearing it won't matter when that day comes. amo vobis!

i have red marks on my body from the brace. i use hanes boy undershirts. they are comfy, but the brace still leaves marks on me! i hate it! my hips also get really dry on the skin. it also has been making me get acid reflux and heartburn, ever since i got it. i hate it SO much! aww man...i wish i didn't have to wear a brace... i would be so happy if i didn't...

i'm sorry your brace rips all of the undershirts! the brace rips really thin overshirts on me! i already have two of my thin shirts that have some holes in them, but they are pretty small.

                    Duh!

Its so obvious that everyone hates their brace and that you wouldn't want to see them. But I think that its very normal.

Hi I'm warriorgirl245, and I'm brand new to this. I have no idea what is going to happen! I am kind of worried, but now that I am on this website I realized that so many kids are going through the same things I am.Thanks for the info on the shirts under the brace, they do annoy me too! I hope I do not have to get surgery, Iam way to scared to do that! anything else to say about making the brace more comfertable?
