  • Lengthy Fusions (& kyphosis)

I noticed in the neck problems thread that there seem to be a lot folks here that have lengthy fusions. I’m curious about what it is like to have such a lengthy fusion. I’m fused from T1 to L3 (which I thought was pretty lengthy already) and have some neck problems and also problems below my fusion. The rod at the top came unhooked long ago and my spine has fallen forward. The kyphosis is progressing, and if it continues the solution is more fusion, which I find very scary in so many ways. I, of course, plan to avoid any further surgeries, if possible. I already feel like a bobble head, but I think part of that is just the constant fighting against gravity from the kyphosis. Any comments on what it is like to have a long fusion and whether further surgeries have seemed to help or not, would be appreciated. Thanks.
