Ever since my two revision surgeries (may 7th and 14th, the latter because the first one had a screw in a nerve) my back has steadily gotten worse. I tilt to the right big time and bend forward. My pelvis is very uneven. Last week I had my second post-op visit with doc only to find out that the area that was operated on (L1-L5) did not fuse and my bottom curve has greatly increased. His answer was that he has only seen this once 12 years ago and that he had to replace all the instrumentation to get some correction back. My feeling to that is complete and utter astonishment, disbelief and whatever. This doctor of mine is a friend of Dr. Boachie and is meeting with him with my X-rays in a few weeks for his opinion.
Have any of you ever had this happen? My life since my original fusion (12/98) was great until this past spring when my rods broke and my health has since gone down the shitter. I cannot believe that I may have to go through this whole ordeal again but I am so bent over and in pain that I don't see how I can't. I also have a baby who will be two next week and I am limited in what she and I can do together although I really do more than many others who would be in this shape.
Any one out there who can relate???? Please! Thanks, Krysi
