  • Bone graft pain

A lot of years ago I had L1-L5 fused. The surgeon took bone from my right hip. After all these years later that seems to be the worst pain I have over all the other work I have had done. 1 year ago I was fused literally from my butt to my neck, and still the bone graft from my hip causes me more pain than any of it.
Has anyone else experienced this or am I just a big sissy?

My surgery was many years ago as well (decades actually, ). I can remember having a miserable pain in my hip from where they took bone for years after as well. It no longer bothers me and I couldn't really tell you when it finally stopped but I do remember that burning, nagging pain in my hip was with me for a long time.

I have pain in my hip from my bone graph. When my daughter had her surgery, her surgeon used doner bone for her graph. He said that he used it because so many people had pain in their hips when they took the graph from there.
