    Sam,

Please do try to make sure you have someone with you. If a friend or family member can be with you to provide respite, it makes all the difference in the world. Please do PM and give me your email. I will provide my work email which I check every day. Sometimes with my schedule it can be weeks before I have a chance to check the personal email. Anything we can do to help. So many people helped us during the surgery. We are glad to reciprocate.

P.S. My 10 year old nephew was just diagnosed with a 25/30 double curve. Here we go again!!! DNA stinks.

Mother of a 17 year old daughter. Her "S" curve was 40 degree thoracic from T3 to T9, and a 70 degree rotatory thorcolumbar from T9 to L4. She was operated on March 9th, 2005 by Dr. Boachie-Adjei at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC. She was fused from T11 to L3, using an anterior approach, and the major curve corrected to 20 degrees. She's doing great!

        Helmsley Medical Tower

I just came back from NYC for my evaluation by Dr. Boachie (he's awesome!)

I stayed at the Helmsley - $215 per night, no taxes. Quite large room with fully equipped small kitchen, modern bath. Decent condition, clean and quiet, very helpful front desk staff. 2 blocks from HSS, very safe neighborhood even at night. Lots of moderately-priced places to eat within a few blocks.
As of 12/25/07, age 62, 100* thoracic kyphosis, 73* L1-S1 lordosis, 37*/25* compensatory S-curve scoliosis. On 12/26/07, Dr. Boachie @ HSS NYC did 11 hours ant. & post. procedures, fused T2-L2, kyphosis now 57*, scoli 10*. Regained 2 1/4 inches in height!! Improving every day.
