    Smile new here

hi, i am glad that i have finally found more parents of congenital scoliosis kids.
i have looked for two years for a site like this one.my daughter abbey-lynn was born with a 46 degree curve and in the last two years it has only progressed to (thank god)53 degrees. surgery will most likley be done this year sometime. it is very hard to find any info on congeital scolosis. abbey appears to have no other deformities except the hemivertebra. im just really happy to of find this place.the other stories make it not so lonely.

    Welcome Abby's mom

this is a good site, lots of support as well as info. There is a mom here who did serial casting then spinecor brace and has had tremendous results reducing her daughters curve. Not sure if her daughter had congenital or idiopathic or if it matters. i think that may have been Celia.

    hi christine,

congenital is treated different then idiopathic and the only option for treatment that we have been given is surgery.i am not sure what the other options out there are except for bracing and she that will do her no good.she was looked at for a veptor but the dr said with her young age that that was also no good.she is a little trooper though, never know anything was wrong
    thankyou for your response.
