    Hi Mobee,

I took pictures of my back before my surgery and after. I think it's a great thing to do.

I think that the Doctor's performing the surgery should consider doing it so they can show future patients what they can expect.

I kind of do on my website (Before and after xrays, and a shot of rib hump before, and straight on of back, then one post op with my scar.) I am going to update it again soon...

Thanks! My rib hump is actually LARGER than yours and my curve is only 35 degrees! What the heck?!

          Mobee,

It is the rotation of the spine, more so than the actual curve, the makes the rib hump.

          Meg,

I took a look at your before and after photos, may I say your spine looks wonderful! Great correction! I would like to share my sons before and after x-rays if I can ever figure out how to scan the darn things.

            Renee,

Don't feel bad! I know how to scan Jamie's pictures and have shared them with many people through e-mail, but I can't for the life of me get them small enough to post on the forum!

              Hey Mary Lou,

Yeah, I think I might actually find some time to sit down with manual in hand and try to figure this thing out.

How are you and Jamie doing??

To post images, use an image host like imageshack.us. They will shrink the size of it for you. Then, you copy the http://(url) of the image they give you and you paste that here.

                  Thanks Katblack.

                  Renee,

Jamie and I are doing well. Her back is doing great and she's actually been able to do some things like riding our 4-wheeler and riding a few rollercoasters which of course she wasn't allowed to do for one year.

It feels so good to be where we are. Jamie started a job this week and has joined the swim team, so as you can see, things are back to normal as far as her back goes.

                  Thanks for asking.

I finally did it! Here's Jamie's before pictures. Sorry about the size of some of them. I don't know why some of them got so big.

                      Good job MaryLou!

For some reason, when we first installed the printer, the scanner wouldn't install. Last week, we tried to reinstall the scanner, which finally came up on computer but we lost printing function. Got new hardware, which reinstalled the printer but again did not install the scanning option. So I'm back to square one, guess I lost my little window of opportunity-should have tried this last week. One day I will figure this out......

THanks for the compliment! I actually didn't even really know I had a rib hump until I saw that pic, which was taken a few weeks before surgery. I always asked if my scolioisis was noticible to others, and they always said no. Maybe thinking they were just being polite, because if I would have seen that on somebody, I would have told them about it (if they asked)...

Meg, I'm with you I NEVER thought my hump was big until the P.T. had me on all fours in front of a mirror. (Pre-surgery) YIKES where did that come from??!! Also, your before and after pictures look like you gained 4"! How much did you gain? I am just learning to send e-photos thanks for the info Katblack! I will try that site. Suzy

                              girls,
my rib hump is really bad & now sticks way out. From the front I look good, you wouldnt know but my back is really messed up.... Suzy, no comparison to yours...I'm way worse probably due to the kyphosis(85%). I'm so hoping after going thru major surgery that the hump goes down...Ly
