  • boston brace

    hello!

my name is Liat and I am 16.5 years old.
    I have scoliosis
I began to wear a boston brace a year ago, and I am still wearing it
    :-(
I had 30 degrees... and now I have 15 degrees in the boston
I will be happy to talk with teenagers who have or had boston too.

hi liat, I have a boston brace too and wear it 23/7. does it matter if some days i take my brace off for a little more than an hour? b/c i want to be in dance for a production my grade is putting on this year but i can't dance in my brace so i would have to take it off. do you think i could take it off for practice which i'm assuming is more than an hour like a couple times a week?
    thanx, Temima

Discuss it with your doctor. My daughter's doctor allows her to play a sport and shower. The doctor figures she could be out for 2 hours.

Best think is to talk to your doctor so that they know what you need.

        hey liat.
my name's marlana, i'm 15 years old and was diagnosed with scoliosis when i was 8. i used to wear a boston brace around 18 hours a day, and had surgery when i was eleven. my curves are around 40-50 and 30-ish. i'm not really sure exactly what they are. if you have any questions or just wanna talk, let me know

          hi everybody!

          hi!
          MadamMim16 -
some days i take my brace off for a little more than an hour'
i shower and do sports (swiming) without the brace...
Discuss it with your doctor... but remeber that it is very important to be most of the time with the boston brace!
(but it is also important to do sports, because all the day you wear the boston)

marlana- do u have problems because you done surgery? do u have pain?
