    Hi!
I don't know what kind of surgery you are having. But I had anterior, and I did not find it wise to throw. It hurts very badly. Most throwing involves turning of the torso. I play waterpolo, and I tried to throw about 2 months after the surgery, and it was not pleasant. It all depends on what youre comforatble with and what your doctor says. Best of luck.

      Hi witty300,

My daughter's doc is very conservative, but he doesn't want her doing anything that will cause her to twist or bend for 6 months. I don't think throwing anything is OK in the beginning. I would look for some other way to get your exercize other than throwing, but listen to your doc's recomendations.

Mother of a 17 year old daughter. Her "S" curve was 40 degree thoracic from T3 to T9, and a 70 degree rotatory thorcolumbar from T9 to L4. She was operated on March 9th, 2005 by Dr. Boachie-Adjei at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC. She was fused from T11 to L3, using an anterior approach, and the major curve corrected to 20 degrees. She's doing great!
