  • Hi

Hey everyone it been a while since I been on here.
I been quite busy. I’m in a computer class and American Sign Language class though the college here. I started at a art program a few weeks ago I don’t remember exactly when. A couple weeks ago I fell backwards in the bathtub the middle of my Fusion bent forward it felt really awkward. Im still in a lot of pain from that accident. On thanksgiving the pain was really bad. It still hurts really bad. I go back to uc Davis in January 2018 to talk with my Surgeon.

    Hi Kara,

I bet your fusion is still okay and that it is soft tissue that hurts so much. One of my daughters hurt herself like that but now she is fine.

I hope you are still able to attend class so you don't miss anything.

I hope you write about what the surgeon tells you.

      I surely will Sharon.
I still have a feeling a Piece of hardware is broken.
Also a few days ago when I was trying to sleep on my side the area t4 to t6 popped.

Kara please try not to worry about broken hardware. The radiographs will show that if present.

Your pain should be getting less and less. I hope it isn't getting worse.

Sharon I like your point. But the pain is still about the same. I did have X-rays done here where I live. There a lot of confusion about my X-rays that the hospital here. So my mom had a idea to have me make a Appointment with my surgeon. I wrote down a small note for him about what happened.

That's good that you wrote it down because the surgeon is going to want to understand the fall as much as possible.

6 days until I go to uc Davis to talk with my surgeon. As far as the pain is still really bad.
I wrote my surgeon a note on my phone. Explaining the accident I had.
I’m posting it to see if anyone has any suggestions about the note.
My key points about this note is.
In the 1st week of November of 2017
I slipped in the bathtub and hit my low back pretty hard and the area of my Fusion from T7-T11 bent. I’m having a lot of pain, sometimes the nerves around the area that bent fire like a burning fire sometimes it spreads to both my lower extremities and I’m also having muscle spasms around the area.

Kara is all you pain in the thorax and none in the lumbar where your fusion ends?

I was worried you bent your spine right below the fusion which would be in your lower back. I think that would be potentially worse than pain in the fused area. The fused area is very strong if it is truly fused.

I hope you get good news when you see the surgeon. You have suffered with this for a long time.

Is the pain getting any better since you hurt yourself? Does it hurt continually or only if you move in certain ways?

                Good luck Kara.

I have tried to accept your new Kara friend request, but the software will not allow me to have anymore scoliosis friends since my friend box is now full! (smiley face) There is always something new in the scoliosis world! Ha ha

Sharon the pain is still pretty bad. The vertebrae from t7-l5 3 vertebraes below the fused area hit the bathtub. The pain is constantly ever since I hurted my back.
Ed i think there a way to clean out the friends list. My mom, me and my step dad and a good friend are leaving the eurkea area the day before my appointment to go to ukiah. Then continue to Sacramento the following day for my appointment.

Hey everyone i just got done with my appointment with my surgeon.
The orthopedic resident and Dr javidan was extremely concerned.
Dr Javidan said the Fusion still looks fine as well as the rods. Dr Javidan said he going to order a ct scan and mri to see if there a mico fracture or herniated disc. I’m still in a lot of pain

Well that's a lot of imaging. If it is a herniated disc or a microfracture, can anything be done? Is there any treatment for those things?

I had two herniated discs and they got better over time with PT in one case and not riding my horse for 3 months in the other.

Would they even treat a microfracture??

Dr Javidan made it clear to me that he not going to do surgery.
He said if their a herniated disc he will do injections
And if their a mico fracture just let it heal on it own
