  • 4" Memory Foam Topper w/ Tempur Pedic?

Hello, By next Spring, I will have undergone compete T-L ASD correction/fusion with all the hardware. I have an aging Tempur Pedic Queen mattress at home. Does anyone use the 4" memory foam toppers on TP beds, or only on coil spring models? I'm wondering if my big problem will be in the post op rehab center I will be discharged too, not at home on the TP. I imagine I will be in residential rehab for about a month, but am guessing. Any experiences appreciated.

Guess not many folks have tried this out judging by the date of your post, and so my input FWIW may be too late, but just in case not...

I purchased one such at the Baltimore IKEA (had been dying to visit - a three hour drive). I use it on a spring mattress. It's a huge improvement comfort-wise to the plain mattress without it, BUT...

It continually slides off the mattress. I need to shove it back in place multiple times/night and the same thing if I recline during the day. Need I say this is a ROYAL PAIN ITB?
Ugh. This is manageable now but after I have fusion surgery, fagedaboutit! Hoping a son can enjoy it when he visits although even that is dubious as I have been unable to find a mattress cover and/or sheets that will achieve my goal of holding the two pieces together (have tried several brands). Otherwise alas, $150 down the toilet!

Good luck on your surgery - if past, hope it went well!
Not all diagnosed (still having tests and consults) but so far:
    Ehler-Danlos (hyper-mobility) syndrome, 69 - somehow,
    main curve L Cobb 60, compensating T curve ~ 30
Flat back, marked lumbar kyphosis (grade?) Spondilolisthesis - everyone gives this a different grade too. Cervical stenosis op'd 3-07, minimally invasive

      Re Mattress for post surgery

I stopped using a tempurpedic a couple years ago because they are hard for me to slide across to reposition myself in bed ... and like another person mentioned, they slide off the bed. After my revision surgery 7 weeks ago I discovered that I need a very firm bed. I'd already bought a Sleep Number and now have it on the 100 setting. I'm having pain after getting in bed and just after getting out of bed but I'm fine while I'm sleeping. Good luck !!!
