Question 14 months after surgery and need revision 😒

Hello everyone, I haven't been on the forum for a while but do read your post now and then.
At my 1 year visit with My surgeon, he said everything looked fine. I told him I still had a lot of pain and still had to take 2 oxycodone a day. He decided to send me for a CatScan and this Tuesday we once again went to Toronto to find out the results.
Apparently I did not fuse from L4-L5 and my L5 vertebrae has cracked and a screw has come loose.
    So this means another surgery.
Getting very depressed about the whole situation, I Know a lot of you have gone through a second or even more revisions.
Is it as hard as the first one?

Marianne, I am so sorry this has happened....

Have the docs talked about taking it down to the pelvis?

No Ed, he did not say anything about that and I didn't think to ask.

    Marianne...

Typically, revision surgery to fix a specific problem, especially one that is causing a lot of pain, is a lot easier than the original surgery.

Hope everything goes well and that your recovery is an easy one.

    Still waiting!

It has been almost a year since I have been told I needed revision surgery and I am still waiting for a date.....
There is just not enough surgery time for doctors in Ontario.
Very frustrating....... I have been told there is a 2 year waiting list.
In the mean time my pain is getting worse, and can't do much around the house. My husband (77) has learned to clean and do laundry and my daughter and son and their spouses help out as well. So I have been blessed with A wonderful family.
Just needed to vent about waiting so long. 😱

That's awful to have to wait that long when you are in pain! I feel for you.

Revision? A piece of cake compared to the first surgery. I have had 4 revision surgeries. Glad that you figured out the problem. Get 'er done and get on with life.

    Had a fall....

I was getting changed Saturday evening and lost my balance, banged my head on a shelve then on a chair and fell flat on my back. I didn't want to go to the hospital but sunday my daughter and son convinced me to go in. After xrays and a long wait found out I have fractured my T7 vertabrae. Which is above my fusion.
Not a fun day for my husbands father's day, but what can you do.

My Surgeon, Dr. Wilson receieved the xrays from the hospital here and his office called me. I have an appointment to see him Monday so will go from there. Maybe this will speed up my surgery date, lol.

I hope you get a surgery date soon so you can have it behind you and start to heal.

Sounds like quite a fall......I hope the pain passes quickly.

On a good note, I guess you have proven that your construct is sound. This happens after we heal and have a fall or a crash.

Let us know what happens with this.

    Hang in there
