I will continue to keep you and your family in my thoughts. I can't even begin to know what it must feel like as a parent. Big hugs, stay strong as you have, it will help her so much. I am glad that your surgeon is communicating so well with you, that must help a little bit.

Thank you so much. Yeah, it's been pretty intense. Double thoracotomy, two ribs removed, discs removed from T6-L3 (T4 and T5 will be taken today and L4 if needed), and anterior fusion of those levels in the span of 4 days, and now the posterior fusion and instrumentation today. Our daughter is amazing. It's been so hard, and she's been a trooper. She's our hero.....

Thank you! It's definitely helpful that he's been so communicative, and he clearly cares about doing what's best for her. It definitely helps us feel confident we have the right surgeon for the job.

So glad that all seems to be going well. There are always bumps in he road, so if/when that happens, take a deep breath. Your daughter has amazing strength, mostly because she has a mom with great courage and an awesome attitude. Take care of yourself so that you can be present for your daughter.

    Sending healing thoughts.

    Karen5,

Keeping you in our thoughts. Hoping your daughter's fusion does not extend below L3 and wishing for a fast and pain free recovery.

Do keep us updated. Do remember no matter how long it might seem, ultimately THERE IS LIGHT at the end of the tunnel.

    Hang in there.

    Best wishes,

    Coolblue
