  • Are There Any......

    Christians on this board?

Because.. if there are, I sure could use some prayer!

We are currently looking into finding some insurance. I need to see an Ortho specialist. My back pain is beyond what I can handle anymore.

Linda... Would starting a prayer forum be asking too much.. coming from a 'newbie'?

May God bless you and help you deal with the pain. My Prayers are with you to get the help you need with the pain. I can sure sympathize with you. I sure have had my share of pain in the last year. It seems like to me that I am in more pain since my last surgery than what I was before. I hope and pray that you can find the help you need to get your problem solved. And I will keep you in my prayers Keep me informed on how you are doing. And may God bless you.

I like to believe I am a Christian, and... What do?

                Hi:

Thank you for the question, I think if you go to my web site www.FrankieBush.net go to the "bio page" and use of the video clips, then scroll down and listen to some of my music from my CD you might understand.

But besides that I have been dealing with scoliosis, "very severe scoliosis" with multiple surgeries for many years. Right now I have an appointment with Dr. Boachie in New York, and I can certainly use your prayers, as he may be my last opportunity. At one point my scoliosis 150°. Now it is approximately 90. But I still have a long ways to go.

Thank you, again and God bless you... Frankie Bush www.FrankieBush.net

                    Assurance

                    Hi, Cindy ~

Yes, I have assurance! I know for sure who am I in Christ. I just finished praying this morning for an online friend who had her rods removed yesterday as well as praying that I will NEVER need revision surgery!! I will pray for you as well.
                    Have a good day!

I am also a newbie and firmly believe in prayer to God thru Christ, his Son. I think I'm where you are re: scoliosis. Had four back surgeries and now dealing with pain issues, not to mention depression. Going to see an ortho on Flag Day. Wanna come along??

God hears & answers ALL prayer

                          My dearest fellow scoliosis strugglers,

On top of the pain from my neck to my knees because of that darned Harrinton rod, I feel pain in my heart when people begin openly including and excluding others.

God is my life and my one true love and all that I am, and not only am I certain the feeling is mutual, but I am also CERTAIN that God's love extends to ALL of his creation, REGARDLESS of religious affiliation. As an animal lover and gardener, I have no doubt God's love sustains all things, not just people.

When I started grade school I became a really miserable kid, I really didn't have friends. It's not that I wasn't likable or didn't fit in---I had all the appropriate credentials from race to creed to economic status to fancy address---but I had such low self-esteem that I thought I wasn't worthy of liking, and I didn't have any social skills anyway. My parents were nasty, they didn't know how to really get along with others, or each other, or their children.

Ironically, the only time during my childhood when I was able to feel safe connecting to others and to have friends was the 9-month period after my original scoliosis fusion when I was wearing the 25-pound body cast. I finally felt safe for once in my life, inside the cast. The cast came off and my social life again fell apart. It has been a very hard road from the age of 13 to the age of 40, healing emotionally and spiritually. (And what an irony that having been active and athletic during all that time, now I'm falling apart physically!!! Life can be funny in a quirky sort of way. )

Coming from this background, I am very uncomfortable with professions of specific religion in non-religion-topic Internet discussion groups. From the beginning of time people have distinguished themselves by their alleged relationship to a God (re-read the story of Cain & Abel, exactly what motivated Cain) that no human being could rightly claim to have sufficient wisdom or knowledge to perfectly comprehend. The result has almost inevitably been more murder and mayhem, not more peace and prosperity.

While the U.S. is exceedingly diverse according to race, religion, color, creed, marital status, sexual preference and any other way you look at it, our country was founded in a Judaeo-Christian tradition, so permit me to quote from the Hebrew and Christian bibles (a/k/a the Old & New Testaments) to support what I am saying.

From the Book of Leviticus (OT), which is largely an enumeration of the Laws of God, i.e., how people should treat the Earth and its inhabitants:

                          Leviticus Chapter 19, vv. 13-18:

13 "Thou shalt not opress they neighbor ... 14 "Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind ... 15 "Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment ... 16 "Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people ... 17 "Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart ... 18 "Though shalt not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge ... but thou shalt love they neighbor as thyself: I am the Lord."

And, from the Gospel according to St. Matthew (NT):

                          Matthew Chapter 22, vv 37-40:

37 "... Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 "This is the great and first commandment. 39 "And the second is like unto it: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 40 "On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

thoraco-lumbar fusion in 1978 by Hugo A. Keim (Columbia-Presbyterian NYC) for top curve of ...42-degrees... and a bottom curve of some number below ...30-degrees... Had no pain or deformity until after the surgery. Unfortunately, condition of spine has deteriorated in the intervening 27 years. Current potential-revision surgeon, the angel & brilliant surgical technician, Dr. Boachie in NYC. I count myself blessed!

And, although I don't agree with some of what you said here, I do appreciate you taking the time to post.

You are in my prayers as well!
