    Look at THIS poor girl.........

Flerc, Dr Jane is a Chiropractor. She doesnít have the training to be handling cases like this. This girl is serious.

Why is there a fundraiser when she can be done for free? Raising funds for medical technology?????

    Thx for posting.

Watch the video. These are CLEAR chiropractors. She states right in the beginning that this is a CLEAR center.

Ed, are they asking for money to keep her in CLEAR? That's awful! Her LIFE is in danger and these guys think they can help her? That is malpractice. ANY decent chiropractor would refer this girl on to a surgeon. Someone needs to contact her family and let her know where she can go to get real help... for free, as you said. My heart is breaking for this girl!

I didn't think it may belongs to Clear. As I periodicaly do I googled 'new scoliosis treatment' and this appeared. If it's Clear methodology is not something new.. and I didn't read about that girl.. Thanks Ed and Rohrer!

These Clear people have no shame. There is some chance this child can't have surgery but if so they should have stated that. As it stands now, that Clear chiro looks like a reprehensible asshat of a human being charging a desperately ignorant girl for a sheer nonsense treatment. Disgusting behavior.

I find it hard to believe that there are no laws that mandate the referral of cases like this. We have seen this before with jaw dropping deformity cases and parameters need to be set. These children rely on their parents who are lied to, and simply donít know, all because of greed. Multiple opinions are the only way to combat this. I donít believe that she was surgically rejected. I donít believe that this girl would be turned away from Shriners or any institution because of lack of insurance.

Another troubling thing is the fact that people collect money for a cause, and put that money in their pockets with no shame. For those that want to donate, please know who you are donating to. Believe me, you can do a world of good knowing where the funds are going before you write that check. If you need a list of crooked charities, please simply google for this information. When you donate to a cause that supports a disease that you finally get and ask for help and hit roadblocks of NON-support, you will understand completely how bitter I feel about this subject matter. This happened with my father, so you know who Iím talking about.

The FDA can move into a implant hardware manufacturing facility, lock the doors, and do a ďdestructive purgeĒ of ALL materials. This is complete control over their sales, over what they do, and how they conduct their business. Its truly amazing when you think about how much power they have. I have seen this happen. Everyone thinks hardware manufacturers are profiting beyond belief and its just not the case.

Why is it that with the people that actually matter the most, the people that choose the actual method or course of treatment, have no watchdogs? If they have a title that establishes trust and integrity, they should at least have some moral ethics.

Has any blood work been done on this girl? This is one of the first things that is done with medical professionals upon stubbing your finger.

Anyone who has read my posts knows that I do support Chiropractic. I have been adjusted by 15 Chiropractors over the last 28 years....Please bear in mind that this was done for pain control only after visiting a few orthopedics and scoliosis surgeons and had their permission while delaying my sorely need surgeries. In my case with double 70 degree curves, no correction was obtained as an adult. Itís a nice thought, and we need hope sometimes, but the truth of the matter is that scoliosis, and kyphosis remains a complicated disorder that goes way beyond the curves.

I doubt very much this girl could be a real case. I personally know people with 'giant' curves over 80ļ in perfect state really, but 143ļ.. if it would be true she should to be running a serious life risk. What if she really dies? I cannot believe they may be so fool..

Not to get completely off topic, but, well, some kind of are. :-) The $500 million that Medtronic makes on INFUSE every year is a pretty good example.

I have first hand experience with Rhino and Dr. Jane. My daughter is treated at this Center and it has given hope and life back to her. Abby is real. Absolutely real and I think you should all stop and think before you project to know her, her parents or Dr. Jane. Dr. Jane does treat her for free - this is over 80,000 dollars of Dr. Jane's time, energy and $ - all goes to Abby. She does anything and everything that this girl needs. No, she will probably not live through her twenties, however, she is living and experiencing life without major pain or life threatening surgeries. If she has surgery, she has a great chance of dying and surgery is not the fix all - years of pain and disability. This girl races me down the hall (to improve her lungs) and she kicks my butt. Dr. Jane only treats scoliosis patients - this is her specialty - if you don't know anything about her certifications and qualifications, I'd look into it before you condemn someone who has given their life to try and help any and all scoliosis sufferers. Surgeons and the traditional medical field aren't curing, fixing or alleviating the problems associated with scoliosis.

"No, she will probably not live through her twenties, however, she is living and experiencing life without major pain or life threatening surgeries"

And yet my friend who had surgery on her 140+ degree curves in her 30s now has stabilised curves of around 70 degrees and is out living her life without fear that she is going to die due to her scoliosis! Since having this surgery she's moved abroad to live with her partner and is studying for another degree as she's looking forward to forging a new career. Abby's life is already being threatened - I don't see the logic in not getting the very best surgical treatment Shriners can provide, and if she were my daughter I wouldn't sit around thinking "oh she has a nice life now, shame she will probably die young".

If Abby is getting her treatment for free, may I ask why there is a need to raise money for her?

I am not always pro-surgery, anti-nonsurgical treatments by any means but seriously, surgeons DO alleviate and fix problems caused by scoliosis. They've done so for myself and have done so for many people I have known over the years.

Is very difficult for me to believe in a reduction close to 25% in such super giant curve.. the lack of x-ray does it more difficult. But anyway if the prognosis from people treating her is so bad that not believe she may live more than only some few years more, that treatment is not useful. Nobody should to prevent her to visit a surgeon.

That right there is malpractice if there is a chance to give this girl a normal life. Look up Elias... He had a curve of similar magnitude. He's almost all straightened up, living the normal life of a teenager. His parents weren't content to sit back and watch him die at the hands of a chiropractor. Chiropractic works for PAIN sometimes. I went to one and my curve worsened. This child deserves to live. If she has pain, there are ways to treat that. The whole thing makes me literally sick to hear someone ADMITTING she's going to die young from scoliosis. That's totally unnecessary! I have shivers... just the horror that girl will experience while she's dying.
I have a friend dying from scoliosis. It gets to a certain point that they can't help you because your body is so compromised. Do you really think that "in her twenties" she's going to want to die, from a treatable disease no less? This is just sick.

...and if she's being treated for FREE, why is "Dr." Jane soliciting MONEY to help this girl!? This woman ought to know her limits and CLEARly does NOT. Not only is she condemning this girl to death, she is using her as a "poster child" to solicit funds from a society that doesn't understand this disease. This solicitation clearly makes it sound like the funds are needed to save Abby's life. So, whoever you are, you've just admitted that this is all a big FRAUD and a SCAM for MONEY.
