So sorry about the crash, I hope you are recovering from that....I’ve been through those parts, the Northern Nevada, Southern Oregon area is one of the few spots in the US where you can drive for a very long time and not see anyone else.....desolation for sure.

As far as your scoliosis surgery is concerned, you will need an “adult scoliosis specialist”. I wouldn’t pick someone unless they were active and only doing scoliosis surgery. If someone trains and is completely focused on the spine, this person wouldn’t do shoulders or knees. The spine is complex enough to keep a scoliosis surgeon extremely busy for an infinite amount of time.....I don’t know how to stress how important this is.

Decision making is difficult. There are so many parameters involved that its hard for the layman (us) to make a decision......The best advice I can give is to keep reading and posting, ask any questions at all. Read David Wolpert’s book, and take your time. This will be the most important decision you will ever make, you want to have a good knowledge of the topic matter, and also know about the “C” word. Complications. I know, it grim, but you need to know because its serious surgery. Surgeons usually pop this on us right before we go in, because they have to. My urologist popped the old, “you know what a stent is” on a laser lithotripsy procedure I had years ago. There is always some sort of information that gets your full attention. That got my attention. (smiley face) Knowledge is a good thing. Knowledge combined with faith is better.

I didn’t realize how classic that croc photo is till Sharon mentioned it, but it is hilarious because you can see that stress in my face. I’m thinking that he couldn’t possibly chance attacking his food supply......at least for the single second I turned my head and yelled “snap the photo”. Thoughts of the massive migration of the
wildebeest in the Serengeti crossing the Mara river did cross my mind. Discovery used to run those croc attack programs years ago quite often.....maybe to keep the ratings up? Combined with British narration, it has that seriousness that really grabs your attention. Ohhh...man!

    Croc marketing.

I'm so glad we're back too! I was also worried it was the end of our group. I'm coming up on 5 years myself next week, and I feel so normal!

Just like everyone else, I am so glad that we are fixed!!!Both our web site and some of our spines. We really do learn from each other and so much more than a Doctor has time for or a book can tell us. I am happy that Ed is back SAFE!!!
I am finally able to post---due to a workers comp claim{that Just settled} I had to remain silent or just ask questions. I will very soon share what it was like to have untreated scoliosis and a very severe work related injury.I am just not to sure where to put it. I do know that workers comp laws are different in each state--but I do think the whole process{all six very long years} is some what the same.
I should be jumping for joy{not that I can jump} but not only did I have to deal with multiple doctors,lawyers,judges--I had to have 3 seperate surgeries and some of us know what that means.
I thank Ed and Linda for the information that they sent me that helped bring this to a settlement.
I will say more as soon as I know where to put the thread.
Ed, I will call you soon and share the details. Some details, I never will be able to share--I actually had to sign a gag order in the settlement.
Let me know where I should post a thread about this subject.

I’m so glad that everything worked out in court. When you read about a particular subject for years and years, its funny how information that is stored way back in your memory can suddenly be “stirred”, and I guess my memory isn’t completely shot yet. (smiley face)

Glad to have been of some assistance.
