Yes, Kara-- that's a great picture! And then I got to see you are in Ukiah-- at least your school is. That is a beautiful area. I grew up in California (before coming to Indiana)-- in Yuba City. I went to school at Humboldt State University, up in the Redwoods, so would often travel quite near Ukiah, and then go up the coast highway on my big 5-6 hour trip... We have a friend in Willits. Now I can picture you just a little better-- you AND your surroundings. Congratulations on a job well done! (big smile!)

That's what is fun about pictures, Kara. I was so surprised to see it said Ukiah in the picture! I knew you went to Dr. Gupta in Davis, which is just about 40 miles from my home town... a small world! But here I am, living in Indiana since 1975. CA still feels like home to me though, since I was there my first 25 years. There's something about those first years! And Humboldt State was a wonderful place-- in the redwoods, on the coast, just 80 miles south of the Oregon border... (am I making some of you drool?) It's one of the California State Universities. (smile) -- famous for its Natural Resources department-- and believe it or not, my major was in wildlife management. Ahhh, the wildlife. Ha ha. Red Skelton had some good jokes about it, back in the day. Totally not PC.

But back to your picture-- we are all so very proud of you! A very major accomplishment for a very dear person!

Susie, I feel the same way about hometowns. I was born and grew up in Long Island NY and still feel that is home. The last time I was there was 2006 for my dear Dad's funeral.I had a wonderful childhood there . We were 20 minutes from the beach. When I grew up, I went to NYU in Manhattan. We moved to NJ in 1988 and then NC in 2007. In 2011, we headed to southern CA. The area that Superstorm Sandy hit in both NY and NJ were the area that we lived in.
