  • surgery monday with dr lenke

Today I got a central line put in. My husband and I will stay in st Louis for the weekend. Then surgery at 7:30 am Monday. Starting to get a little nervous. Dr. Lenke said the surgery will take about 10 hours. Longer than he originally thought because he will have to do a bone retraction (I think this is right).

Good luck, Maggie. What are you going to do this weekend? My surgery is coming up soon too and I wonder how would I handle a few days before it.

        Hi...

Never heard that term. If you confirm it, and find out what it is, let us know.

        Best of luck!!

          Maybe she means resections (osteotomies)?

You're right. I meant bone resection (osteotomy).

                  Hi, Maggie,
Dr. Lenke was my surgeon and he's the best! (Okay, I know I'm a little biased) My surgery was also 10 hours. We live 25 miles from St. Louis and have also gone on the Anhueser-Busch Tour which is really interesting. Tomorrow should be a pretty nice day for the zoo. I think it is one of the few free zoos in the United States. You are in great hands with Dr. Lenke. Be sure to post when you are able. You will do just fine. My pre-op period was so much worse than my recovery as far as stress. The pain was nothing like I had imagined and feared. Best of luck.

Best wishes, Maggie! You will be in wonderful hands on Monday!

My surgeon was Dr. Lenke and I also had my central line on a Friday and my surgery on the following Monday. It's a little hard to manage the time over the weekend, but it sounds like you are doing great!

In case it eases your mind, I will tell you that my pain was very well controlled while in the hospital and I was discharged the Friday following my surgery. Please let us know how everything goes for you! I will be thinking of you!

Best wishes, Maggie! I had similar curves and a similar age to you. Dr. Lenke actually took less time than expected with me. I had very little pain in the hospital. Recovery takes a long time, but you are in the best of hands! Have someone post for you in recovery. We'll all be thinking of you.
