  • Surgery Nov. 8th - with Dr. O'Shaughnessy

    Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that I will be having surgery next week, November 8th, with Dr. Brian
O'Shaughnessy to look at the nerve root area, L - 3 to sacrum, and hopefully locate a bone fragment or pinched nerve, etc., the source of my unbearable pain. It will be done at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. I should just be in the hospital a couple of days and hopefully a shorter recovery than my previous fusion surgery in April.

      Nov 8th Surgery

Hi Pam....I have been thinking so much about you as I knew you were in so much pain and having a hard time getting through to Dr. Lenke and his staff. Did D. Lenke have any advice for you? I pray to God this doctor finds the source of your pain. I am having the same fusion Dec 11 with Dr. Bridwell L3-sacrum....makes me pause just a little... You are too young to be in this kind of pain. I will be praying that this doctor will find the source of your pain.

                      Tomorrow's Surgery

Thank you Evelyn for your thoughts and prayers for tomorrow's surgery. I'll try to remember to ask my husband to post on here. Yes, they are addressing my pain very well with a pain pump that has helped tremendously. I am getting a bit nervous and anxious about surgery. I humbly ask for everyone's prayers for my surgery tomorrow. The time has been pushed back to noon, so it should be later in the day before my husband knows anything. But Dr. O'Shaughnessy has spoken with Dr. Lenke who is in agreement that surgery is the right thing to do at the point. He will go in and trace the nerve root to try to locate the pain source.

Thank you so much for letting us know. I know that I've been waiting for news and hoping all has been going well for Pam and I'm positive others have been, as well. We look forward to some good news soon. Take care of yourself too, this is a very tiring, no, exhausting business and husbands need sleep and rest as well. Sending best wishes to you both from Australia.
