  • Just got back for my pre-op with Dr. Lenke

    Hi all!
I just returned from St. Louis for my tests before my surgery Oct.29th.
Oh my, I am so impressed with Dr. Lenke. And that helps with the anxiety
about the surgery. I know he's going to go from T2 down to my pelvic bone and reach
around and reinforce from the front. The technic is good for me as I already have
a lot of abdominal surgeries done to my tummy. So this avoids an abdominal incision.
He will be doing several (and maybe more) osteotomies. He will completely remove
the discs from L3/4 and L4/5 to give me more lordosis . I can't really tell you how all
this is accomplished, but I have complete faith in my surgeon.
I need to start getting together the things I need for recovery. I am so excited!
I'll keep you posted as much as possibly. May I ask those of you that Pray, to send some Prayers my direction!! Warm thought of you all, Linda

there isn't such a thing as a stupid question I'm finding out! Yes, he is removing all old rods and screws, top to bottom, as he wants to use some different size screws and other equipment. I know I have a very challenging case as I have osteoporosis. Ask away, if there"s anything I can help you with. Truly, Linda

            Linda--
I'm so happy you have Dr. Lenke for your surgery. Of course, mine was a first surgery but what you described sounds so much like mine. T2-pelvis, reach around to front, osteotomies, etc. etc. You bet prayers are coming your way!! Janet
