    Interesting article mentions Copes

I wasn't sure where to put this... In an online CNN article today: 10 Shocking Medical Mistakes -- mistake #4 is fake doctors. Their example case is someone who saw Dr. Copes. If you go to the pictures above the article (patients' stories), the pictures are 6,7, and 8. There has been a lot written on here about him in the past so I thought some of you might be interested.

First time I've ever seen a picture of him. I'd always imagined him with super slick hair. :-)

In the early days of the internet, I took a lot of abuse for trying to fight Copes' claims. People were so desperate that they believed his claims without a single bit of evidence. It frustrated me to no end, that insurance companies were reimbursing for Copes' treatment without any evidence, at a time when many proven treatments were not reimbursed.

You are the "Charles Darwin" of scoliosis forums! Evidence trumps faith every time.

That was a very interesting article, Sharon. I had the same thing happen to me as the last girl with the anesthesia, or lack thereof. I needed my medical records from that hospital for another procedure that I was having. Needless to say I was SHOCKED that they had NO record of me being there and no record of my son's cesarian birth! I called the doctor who performed the operation (not the guilty party) and he had the records I needed. I don't know if he had the record of the anesthesia blooper, though.
