    Gayle

I cant believe it either. sigh.

The only thing you really can do is stay positive....What other choice is there? You know this is just a little setback......chances are that the cuts will be small so not as bad as the original surgery.

You know that when they go around and fuse the front that it balances out the fusion.....the resulting strength is a sure bet for success....

      Revision surgery delayed

I was all set to go in for my revision Monday, staying as calm and positive as possible, my insurance company even came through by approving it in one day's time. Then today I got the dreaded news that my surgery was being bumped out to next Friday, Feb 3rd, due to an emergency case. I am extremely disappointed to be so close, now another week to wait. I have been stuck in this painful broken rod limbo for almost two weeks now.

I am in daily pain and very limited in my activities. It hurts too much swim, hurts to walk, hurts to move around in bed, etc. I went back to work the last couple of days because I can at least get paid while I hurt, and I am less bored at work.

Any cheerful thoughts are appreciated. I will try to stop feeling so sorry for myself now.

        Hi Gayle...

Sorry that you have to wait another week.

At work, I see patients being postponed for a bunch of different reasons, and my heart always go out to the patients. I think I can truly imagine how disappointing it must be.

Hang in there. It will be over before you know it.

        Regards,
        Linda

I am so sorry to hear that . When I was going for my first surgery ,back in 2010, I went for pre-op testing and came to find out that I had diabetics. My surgery
was postponed until my blood sugar numbers were under control. I had to wait from March 13th until May 4th. I was in so much pain and could do nothing about it until I could have the surgery. I am glad that your wait is not that long.

Thanks, Maria. I am trying not to be nervous. We are leaving this afternoon for our hotel in Portland, and then surgery tomorrow. I'm still waiting to have the time confirmed. Tim will be updating my care page.
