On the subject of Malocclusion, I just wanted to say that I had one, and had to have it corrected when I was 14 by wearing a retainer to “pull” my jaw forward. This was before I knew I had scoliosis.

I guess if a kid needs braces, it might not be a bad idea to go have their spine looked at.
Is this a first post on this subject here?

I don't know if this has been discussed in a previous thread. I recall Maria mentioning something about orthodontics with her son. And also Hdugger. Both my kids have or did have braces on their teeth.
Among my two perennial malcontents,* er, I mean identical twins, one needed her jaw advanced and the other did not. They have different orthodontic issues and treatment plans.
*Actually, they are very easy kids to raise. I was lucky. Gimme that "new-time science." SING IT!!! :-)Sharon, mother of identical twin girls with scoliosis
No island of sanity.
Question: What do you call alternative medicine that works?
Answer: Medicine
"We are all African."

I found the abstracts on cardiac function and respiratory muscle and exercise impairment most interesting. I alway "assumed" that the larger curves would create larger problems in these areas. However, if I read them correctly, that isn't always the case. It makes me wonder if there is more to the side effects of this disease at the molecular level than that of the physical deformity itself...Be happy!
