  • Good-by Iliac Screw

Just a quick note to say that removal of my annoying screw was as easy as promised. I was eating lunch at the hospital and then back to the hotel by 2:00 PM. Dr. Lonner even encouraged us to go out to dinner tonight (just no wine with the pain meds!) It was a little disconcerting to be doing the exact same routine again, same waiting around forever in pre-op, even had the same anesthesiologist who remembered me since I had some issues the first time. I know I'm going to have a sore butt for a while, but I think I'm going to be more comfortable in the long run. For some reason, my coming to NYC for surgery seems to create a weather crisis in my hometown area. The first time it was "snow-mageddon" in Feb. 2010, and this time we're having major flooding like we haven't seen in years. Nothing like seeing your local streets on the Weather Channel!

I am so grateful to have found this Dr. and for the great care I have received here. I proudly wear my "I love New York" tee shirt!

    Hi Anne,

I didn't realize you were having it removed. So glad to hear that it went easily and quickly. I hope you do go out for dinner!

It has been very soggy here for the last few days!

              Anne,
I'm glad the removal was as easy as expected. You will have to toast the removal of the screw with your wine when you are off of pain meds.
