I just noticed a lyrica commercial on TV today and thought of you, Melissa. The ad says it is for depression and also mentioned blurred vision. Are you taking lyrica for your leg? Is it a multi-purpose medication? Funny how I've seen this commercial a dozen times, but actually listened to it today.

    Are you home now?

    Warmly,

My husband will be home Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We will see, come Monday, how I feel . Whether I need to go to rehab or stay at home? We will have to figure it out

      Yes I am still dizzy

Melissa, I hope that you will be feeling well enough to go home any day now. You sure have been through a lot the past year.

I wanted to ask you about your cervical fusion. You mentioned in another thread that you had it done because of shoulder pain. What kind of shoulder pain? I've been suffering from left shoulder pain since April and my surgeon said it's likely due to a bulging disc in my neck. The pain is slower diminishing but I'm just curious why your surgeon fused your neck.

I did not have a good night at all. I could not get as comfortable in my bed , even with a 4 inch memory foam topper, as I slept in the hospital bed. I feel worse
today than any day this past week. My lower left back is in so much pain and I cannot figure out why. I just sent an email to Dr Bederman.

My discs in my neck were falling apart and that is why my NC surgeon fused them this past January. Dr Bederman connected them all because I was tilting to try
to stay upright and look level. I am so much more happy with the way I look now

Ah Melissa, I hope they can get your pain under control and let you sleep. I always find (not just to do with surgery) if I can get some sleep, everything seems much better the next day. Sleep is so healing. I believe it's even worth a sleeping tablet.

Agree Jennifer about the sleep. When I don't sleep well everything seems so much more difficult. Melissa, you could try a prescription sleep aid or you could get some melatonin tablets from over the counter and see if that helps you sleep better. Don't take too much though otherwise you might get really crazy dreams and feel more exhausted than if you didn't take anything. I took 30mls one night and got the worst sleep ever, so back to 10mls for me.

Well I got an hospital bed yesterday morning . I slept so well on it last night. I did not have to get out of bed and go sit in my chair. I slept 12 hours on it and feel great this morning. Well, maybe great is not the right word. I still have my aches and pains but I feel better after getting a good night sleep.

Not going to rehab was the right choice

it's amazing what a good night's sleep will do for you. I'm so glad you were able to sleep well in the bed. I'm hoping before you know it, you will be a new woman!

I cant say I blame you one bit about going home. I pretty much left the hospital minutes after all the hoses were pulled.

The hospital beds are terrible. You would think they could do better, scoliosis patients need better beds!

You should be feeling a little better now, or as good as someone 9 days out after the works.....

Melissa, You need all of the sleep you can get. Your body will let you know when you no longer need a nap. I'm so glad you are home from the hospital.

Absolutely, get all the sleep you can.

I am a poor sleeper usually but after my surgery, I slept 10-11 hours a night then often 2-3 hours during the day. It was wonderful.

Are you able to walk a little every day?
