So glad you are doing better and no roommate! In rehab I had a nice older lady so it was OK. Otherwise, it would be awful when you feel like that. Glad they are keeping you there for another week. That will help tremendously. Janet

Nice to hear you sounding much better. I hope you have been able to catch up on some sleep. Great that you are walking! Keep up the good work and never take you eye off that light at the end of the tunnel, where a new life awaits.

You are sounding so much better each day. And thank goodness you lost the nasty roommate. Talk about adding more stress to your situation! And you're using a cane already? Wow, I was using a walker for the entire 3 weeks that I was in the hospital. Hang in there, Melissa!

God, I'm having flashbacks about the crummy roommate. I feel for ya! I had a hospital employee with a broken leg (boo hoo to you, lady) who was so dramatic I wanted to throw a tray at her face. Plus she had men visiting until god knows what time of night - they were coworkers of hers so I was ambling past strange men, alone, to get into the bathroom.
I hope you get home very very soon and that the pain starts to ease. It's like visiting the mouth of Hades and bathing in the River Styx for a month, between the pain and the forgetting (I lost nearly a month due to oxy).
bright blessings, kiddo.

It's 2 steps forward, one back in the early weeks. Try not to be discouraged. And on good days, try not to overdo it. After your huge surgery, you're doing great Melissa!

Melissa,
I think you are doing extremely well for all that you have been through. I can't imagine going to church so soon after surgery as I'm still not comfortable where the pew back hits my shoulder blade area. I know you're having trouble sleeping, but that will pass. It just seems so much better for you this time. What a difference the surgeon makes! Keep focusing on that light at the end of the tunnel that Ed refers to often.

Thanks Karen and Jennifer for your good wishes. I know that it is back and forth with recovery. It is just that I am so afraid of what happened last time happening again. Last year I was feeling so good until maybe 3/4 months post opp and then I started feeling crummy. I know that I have a much better surgeon this time and that makes so much difference. I just keep looking ahead
