BeneFibre, DocQlace daily with cereals high in fibre, fruit, veggies and lots of water seemed to help. He went almost two weeks before he was able to go to the bathroom. When he stopped the pain meds that helped a lot too.

I would notify your doctor right away on this. Constipation is not to be taken lightly, and can be harmful.

You need to go every day.......

Well the hospital wanted to discharge her on Saturday and I refused to go because she hadn't had a BM... so they kept us until Monday because I fought it. By Monday she just seemed so much better in general that I couldn't really fight it anymore. Thankfully today she started going... 9 days post op.

It's pretty common for patients on narcotics to be constipated. My surgeon puts all patients on senna and colace.
