  • How long?

How long after the surgery were you or your child able to go out and be comfortable walking. I mean like if I were to go to the grocery store, how long do you think until my DD would be able to come and be on her feet for a good 30 minutes? Or if I were to take the baby for a walk outside, how long until she would be able to join us for a walk?

Well, they are supposed to walk each day and build up the time. Walking seemed to be the key to recovery. Ask the surgeon about how much and when.

That said, walking around with the baby for short stretches sounds like something she might try soon after she comes home. Walking for thirty minutes is probably something for the third week or later. That's my best recollection. Hopefully someone else with a better memory comments. :-)
