Good luck, I hope this is the solution to your pain problems. The instrument Dr. Bederman uses to help in spine surgeries looks very interesting, it seems like it could really help.

Be prepared for very aggressive drivers in Southern California. I'm sure it's very different from North Carolina. You might want someone else to drive for you so you don't end up at the appointment in a road rage, lol.

Well, I made with Dr Bederman today and I am so upset. He has to review all my xrays, MRI's and CT scans but he is more concerned about my neck than my back. He also said that he would not have fused me the length that I am. He says that I have considerable weakness on my left side that he does not know if he can do anything about. I have to have another MRI and a cat scan that starts with a M that I cannot think of now. I will have the tests in NC and send him the results. He is so much more thorough than my NC doctor. I am glad that I found him

I am having X rays and the MRI Monday here in CA and then back in NC the mylegram. I am not looking forward to that at all.

Oh you poor thing. Why do you have to go back to NC for the myleogram? Were you intending going back to NC for other reasons? This sounds so complicated Melissa, but I believe these tests are necessary and once Dr. Bederman gets his hands on the results, it may all become clear what the problem is and how to fix it. I believe you are on your way to getting fixed, but unfortunately you have to jump through some uncomfortable hurdles first. Keep your eye on that light at the end of the tunnel and keep heading towards it. Easy for me to say, but never give up. You deserve to get this fixed and live a pain-free life.

I am going back to NC Tuesday so my son can finish school. I only came out this week to look at houses and for my son to look at his new school. I do believe that I am on the way to feeling better but it will not be a easy road to get there

Sorry that you have more tests to be done but sounds like it is necessary. The myleogram isn't so bad; my first opinion doctor had one done. The main thing is to lay flat for the next several hours. I definitely did and avoided the headache that can occur. Follow those instructions. Can't remember for how long but it's important to do. Good luck. Janet
