Whenever I stand or walk I feel burning pain in my left hip. The only way to get relief is to sit down. I have a 35 degree curve & lots of other issues in my spine: degenerative disk disease, spinal stenosis, bulging & herniated disks, and nerve impingement, to name a few. I saw a spine doc & he said the burning hip pain, which I thought was caused by nerve impingement, was not radicular pain because it does NOT radiate down my leg, but rather it's from my scoliosis.
Dr. Maurer said I was NOT a candidate for cortizone shots or surgery....only aquatic PT, a lumbar corset, & a heel lift.
This has been going on since before 2007 & I'm really tired of not being able to walk more than a 1/2 block or even stand up in my kitchen.
Is there anyone out there who has experienced hip pain as I describe? If so, have you found anything that has given you relief besides rest?
