In especially stiff spines, I have seen procedures where they actually remove the discs to create flexibility. They insert cages along with rods and screws to get the correction that they want.

Mmmm... lack of flexibility because discs?... I always thought it would be because short muscles of one side with a high tone or maybe because stiff joints.
I also thought that at least traditional procedures make a force to derotate and stretch the spine.. something difficult to imagine if lack of flexibility would be so irreversible.
