  • Whale thought to have scoliosis

    http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/02/11...t-says/?hpt=T2

Be skeptical of all claims... the whale guys can't seem to agree on what is going on here therefore NOBODY can know.

Well, they must have missed him in school screening....

There “are” school’s underwater you know. Everybody know’s that. Isn’t more than one fish, a school? He he

Years ago, I had the opportunity to swim with a whale shark in La Paz, Mexico. They spot with an ultralight, and give directions to the captain. They look like they move along quite slowly till you jump in and realize that you have to swim as fast as Michael Phelps. A few minutes later, I was about a 1/2 mile away from the boat, with no floatation. It was quite a workout.

LOL! But of course whale are mammals, not fish which you know. (smiley face)

Whale evolution is pretty cool... the paleo guys can trace them from a terrestrial animal in the Oligocene (34-23 million years before present) to their present form...

Oh lucky you! We were in Belize at the exact right time and made two attempts to find a whale shark. Neither panned out. So close yet so far...

If you want a very high probability of a whale shark encounter, you have to have that spotter plane!

Also, whale sharks hang out in La Paz bay. This was not in the Sea of Cortez, so they were not migrating.

Check out this dive report, I was on this trip. It shows the whale sharks, and other goodies.

The orca’s make me jumpy. They are just a little too smart.

Wow nice web site Ti Ed.

I just thought it would be cool if my kids could see the largest fish species in the world. I guess we have to go where they hang out like you suggested.

More info on these guys. Even though there are other good spots, this would be your best bet to swim with whale sharks in the wild.
              http://bajaproject.blogspot.com/2010...th-worlds.html

Also, if your girls don’t dive, they can snorkel with the sea lions at Los Islotes, in the same area on any or all the dive boats...

All dive boats and divers welcome non divers along on trips.
