Maybe you can show them the abstract and ask SPECIFICALLY if it could be that and how they would go about diagnosis it if it might be. And how they can rule it out given that case of that girl in the UK perhaps.

I have noticed that if I have specific (narrow) questions I tend to get specific medical/scientific answers from our surgeon.

Again, good luck and keep moving forward.

Question: What do you call alternative medicine that works?

i would definitely ask for X rays that go lower!!
i do not really understand the reasoning of some of these doctors...they never heard the song "the hip bone's connected to the knee bone.."?

seriously...the spine is so very connected..i would not rule out something in one place impacting on another place!!

i have a lot of hip pain...but mine seems to be coming from herniated discs...
and i also have spinal stenosis in L4-5 area...
disc herniation is what kicked my scoli pain up a whole lot of notches!!

i hope you can line up some SRS scoli surgeons who are specialists in revision surgery...just to be prepared for what your daughter might need in the future....

also....i know you said nothing seemed to help your daughter...BUT...i wonder if sacroiliac joint injections could help her????
wouldn't that be a BETTER "diagnostic tool" than bracing....??????
      just a thought...

      best of luck...
