Has anyone had a thoracoplasty done several years after rods and fusion?

I have been told by three surgeons that having a thoracoplasty (partial rib removal) would help with the pain I have been experiencing for years. I had my surgery when I was 12 and am now 24. Most of my pain is upper back (where the hump is) but also lower back. They're attributing the lower back pain to the hump saying that it is caused by sitting crooked. Does this sound like anything you all have experienced?

I would also like to know how long it takes to recover from something like a thoracoplasty. I really hate to leave a great job to get this done but if it will make my life better then I suppose it's worth it.

    Any feedback would be GREAT...please.

    Pain description

    Shelley,

What does your pain feel like?

I am trying to find out what is going on in my back and I have a feeling the doctors are going to give me a run around. I just started having the pain in my upper and lower back and am almost certain that it pertains to the surgery I had when I was 12.

Sorry for not being able to answer your question.

    Thank you,
    Crystal
