If anyone remembers how I've been having trouble getting off the percocet, well, I have good news. I've now been 24 hours free of percocet. However, the bad news is that it took a horribly nasty cold for it to happen. The cold and fever came on so fast I didn't know what to do. I ended up calling the surgeon to find out what I could take. I'm still weak from the cold, but I wanted to share the good part of my news.

Good news. There will be pain or increased pain when coming off, usually 2-3 days..... Hang in there, you can do this.

Your body is saying "What the heck happened?" I've adapted to these meds, now I have to go back again?

Jam those needed nutrients...tell your surgeon, he will love it.
    Walk often.

I had problems coming off narcotics also, but did it. The first week I remember having increased pain, but then it lessened.

Sorry about the cold! Feel better soon.

After mild narcotics addiction, Depression hits me bad, but when struggling to get off development of a truly massive tolerance, let me warn anyone to whom it may apply - insomnia, total and complete insomnia (lasted a month for me), is THE WORST.

        Blindsided me.

But it was nice to eventually get back (most of) my ST memory...Not to mention, getting rid of the constipation. I'd forgotten what it was like to just - "go"...
Not all diagnosed (still having tests and consults) but so far:
        Ehler-Danlos (hyper-mobility) syndrome, 69 - somehow,
        main curve L Cobb 60, compensating T curve ~ 30
Flat back, marked lumbar kyphosis (grade?) Spondilolisthesis - everyone gives this a different grade too. Cervical stenosis op'd 3-07, minimally invasive
