I posted here because I'm the parent not the patient, but hope someone could share this info with me. What causes spasms in Scoliosis patients? Does it originate from the muscle or nerves?
My Oldest DD is going to have surgery in Nov and she has suffered spasms ( about 6) this past year that really stops her in her path. Usually in the same spot where her curve is the worst, but after it subsides her whole back feels tight. Heat and Motrin take care of it, and usually doesn't last long after she starts them. She had one during PT and they did deep muscle treatment - she was able to drive home.
My youngest DD had surgery last Feb - she had back pain before surgery, but no spasms. She did suffer spasms during recovery for a few weeks.
