    JamieAnn,

Sending good thoughts your way! I'm sure they won't clear you unless you are, well, clear!

Hey, can they put you on an antibiotic ahead of surgery just in case?

Will be thinking of you -- keep us posted!

I suggested being put on an antibiotic ahead of time but for some reason they just wanted me to get checked out anyway. All weekend I battled minor allergy symptoms and today I feel much much better. I think I am finally ready.

I just called to request my own room, and will need to call back this evening to confirm the time of surgery.

I will ask my husband to post updates tomorrow or later this week!

        Thank you everyone!!

I like this motto...thoughts for surgery and recovery

Here's a new motto to keep in mind for the weeks ahead! It's the Latin motto "Dulcius ex aspiris". Translated, this means "sweetness out of difficulty".

Here's to a delicious, soothing, harmonious outcome from our difficult situations.

I will be thinking of you tomorrow, Jamie, and sending positive thoughts and prayers your way!

it's going to be fine !!

i want to add my best wishes to the chorus; my surgery is 8 days after yours (weds oct 6)

i'm telling myself to focus on the positive, i'll have less pain, be actually taller!, and to keep my eye on the prize, so to speak; i'm going to try to be as positive as possible and accomplish some things during the forced sedentary convalescence by tackling some books i've wanted to read for a long time; and i'm going to make it a goal and a project to not complain so as to set an example for my kids

i tell myself to some extent it's a choice to either wallow in my misery or shut up and get on with it and this is an opportunity to demonstrate character; how i do will be talked about by family and among friends for yrs to come

of course, these are just words; i may fail miserably but i do intend to try my best; i don't know if you will find this as something to aspire to yourself or
useless bull but i wish you the best and very much believe that surgical results are better in those who face it bravely

                    Jamie

You hang in there, you will be just fine.

I or anybody else, need to bring up my thread about the benefits of scoli surgery. I just came back from a long trip, and I'm happy to report that I have no pain from long flights, and car trips....

Back before I was fused, the long flights used to kill my back completely.

I have to agree with Ed that you'll be fine!

I'm just under 2 months post-op and have made it through my first weekend away from home. Along with not being in my own bed, I made a two hour trip by car to see the Phillies play while having seats in the highest section in the last row! I was tired by the end of the weekend, but not in pain. If I can do this now then it can only get better!

Keep being positive and know that we are all here wishing and praying for you!
