Good luck Cameren. This will all be behind you (excuse the pun!) very soon and then you can think of getting on with your life. This is a huge thing to contemplate but it's just "one day" - and you sleep through it. Then you only need to rest and heal before picking up where you left off.

              Dear Kelly,

I think sending your child into surgery is one of the hardest things a parent must do. The weeks and days leading up to it are mental and emotional torture. We were there just a few months ago...it is so hard.

I am hoping by the time you read this Cam's surgery will be at least 1/2 way over, and soon you will be on the other side and into recovery.

I am keeping Cameren, you and your family in my thoughts today, and I will look forward to hearing surgery is finished.

              Take good care of yourself,

Surgery is over , everything went very smooth, he can wiggle toes and move his legs. Thanks everyone for all the thoughts, well wishes and prayers.

Last year after he has his surgery for shunt in spinal cord he couldnt feel his right leg, it took a week for him to walk , he still had odd spots of tingling and numbness with that leg. Doctor Bridwell said from the very beginning before surgery started thru the whole operation they could get no neuro readings for the right leg . It may take him longer to recover again then a typical fusion. His neurosurgeon is aware of the monitoring and will probably be visiting during his hospital stay too.
