  • Chiari Decompression prior to scoliosis surgery?

My daughter's surgeon, Dr. Lenke, wants her to have her asymptomatic chiari decompressed prior to the back surgery. Anyone out there with this experience?

Maybe because sometimes the curve will stablize or improve with decompression? Im guessing your daughter does not have syringomyelia either? Is your daughters scoliosis getting worse or at a curve now requiring surgery? Just some thoughts ...
