  • Who can have a look at my x-rays?

    Hello.

This is my first post. I'm Mona, a 20-year-old Arab girl suffering from scoliosis.

I just wonder, can I contact any doctor through email or pm about my scoliosis? I want someone to have a look at my x-rays and tell me something about it. The doctors in my hometown are useless.

    Regards,
    M

    Welcome, Mona.

I don't have any advice as to where you can go for help as I don't live in your country. Sometimes we feel alone in our suffering, but we are not. If you visit other threads on this forum, you will see that there is much support and compassion for people like us. I hope someone can help you find the help you need.
    Be happy!
We don't know what tomorrow brings,
    but we are alive today!

Hi Mona. I read a bit of your blog. Can it really be the case that there are no experienced orthopedic surgeons experienced with scoliosis in your country? I think there must be some but I don't know that.

Can you post your x-rays? We don't have any surgeons here but you may get a few helpful comments which are in NO WAY a substitute for expert surgical opinion.

      Good luck.

Question: What do you call alternative medicine that works?
      Answer: Medicine

I don't want to post them here.

I'm gonna see a doctor next Tuesday, but I would like to ask someone about what s/he thinks of one of my side view spine x-rays. Can i send it to you? I just have a question..

Thank you everyone. We do have orthopedic surgeons experienced with scoliosis in my country, but you find them only in the capital!!!! The region I come from is so important in my country, especially as a tourist destination in this area. However, it lacks for so many things. You find here low education level, very bad health care, etc. Government's fault, for sure.

Pray for me, people, even if you're atheist.. =p

        Thank you everyone.

Instead of me, I suggest you send it to the following people who I think might comment but I can't guarantee:

Linda Racine: moderator here and very knowledgable about most scoliosis matters.

Dr. Kevin McIntire: He is a medical researcher who posts here. He is not here to give advice or make diagnoses and so I would not blame him for not wanting to comment but he might.

Okay! I think scoliosis is one of god's many clever ways of trying to show us that he doesn't exist. He is virtually screaming it at this point. But I'll think of you.

            Hi Mona...

Feel free to email your xray images to me at racinel @orthosurg.ucsf.edu (without the space). I work for scoliosis specialists and can have someone take a look. A little history of progression may also be helpful.

            Regards,
            Linda

Hi Mona, I had a look at what I think is your facebook profile. If that is a photo of your scoliosis, send it to where Linda has suggested.

                Hi Mona,

I am so sorry for people who suffer in parts of the world where they find it hard to get proper treatment. We all deserve excellent medical care.

Read as much as you can on this forum - it is excellent for advice and knowledge and experience. I hope Linda can get some professional medical advice for you, so please email her your xrays and as much of your scoliosis history as you can.

I hope you'll let us know how you get on with your scoliosis. Best wishes.

Mona, I will pray for you that you find the right Dr. I have a few contacts in the Middle East. contact me at arabianfancy@live.com . I want to put you in touch with a VERY special lady over there. Not sure what will happen but if we can get her involved she can move mountains..... It's worth a shot. God brought you here to get help. Maybe I can be part of that help!

Thanks to everyone who tried to help me.

I finally met the person I need. He's not a specialist, but he will help me get over this! All I wanted is know how my future with scoliosis looks like. It's clearer now.

I'm probably going abroad to treat my scoliosis with this guy's help. Not so soon though.

Thank you again people. Love you!
