  • Help with curve definitions

I'm still very new to all of this. I've attached my daughter's x-ray and was hoping someone could help me define the type(s) of curve. Thoracic, lumbar, etc...

    Thanks for any help.

    x-ray 11/10: 7*L, 17*T, 20*C (x-ray immediately OOB)
    most recent x-ray 06/11: 17*L, 24*T, 22* C (x-ray 24 hours OOB)

The top curve is Cervical (neck).
A middle curve is Thorasic (upper back).
A lower curve is Lumbar (lower back).

Thanks! For some reason I thought there was more to it than that.

I don't think there's a cervical curve, but I could be wrong. One can't see the first 2-3 cervical vertebrae. I think it's a thoracolumbar curve.

I agree by looking at the x-ray. But, there appears to be degrees of curvature notations at the 3 locations notated on the x-ray itself.

Thanks. I actually didn't see the top curve degree notation. I've only had a minimal amount of training, but if one uses the method I was taught, the distal vertebra for the top curve would be T4 instead of T5.

I admit, however, that I could be totally incorrect. Scoliosis specialists have a lot more training than I have.
